Clearing vCloud Director QRTZ and INV Tables

Why should you clean vCloud Director QRTZ or INV Tables:

Firstly I don’t think this is supported by VMware, so you likely should call VMware support if you need to do this. I posted this for lab issues as you can’t often get support for your lab.

The rollback procedure for this is simply restoring the vCD DB and powering the cells back on.

The INV and QRTZ tables can become out of sync with the actual underlying vSphere infrastructure, this can present itself as a host being seen as available in vCD but is not in vSphere, either disconnected or in Maintenance mode.

1. Shutdown the vCloud Director cell(s)

Make sure you do this correctly.

2. Create a backup of the vCloud Director database.

3. Clean the QUARTZ table in the vCloud Director database

5. Power on first vCloud Director cell wait until sync process will complete (all data should be visible in vCD Web UI)

6. Power on second and subsequent cells.
